Now that the rant is over, on the happier things.
Bookgirl tagged me for the 8 things meme!
The rules:
- Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
- People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.
- At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people and include their names.
- Don’t forget to leave them a comment and tell them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Ok I'll try to tag eight people but my list of people is diminishing because everyone has been tagged!
- I used to live in Alaska, then shortly there after moved to Southern California. (My father was a pilot in the Air Force. Hence all the moves.)
- I buy journals and notebooks all the time. I give them all themes, but never really finish them. I've only filled one to completion in my life. But I'm almost done with another one.
- Penguins are my favorite animals. I have a penguin calendar on my wall in my office.
- I can't do a cartwheel.
- I love gospel music.
- I go by the nickname of my middle name. Most of my friends here in Italy don't even know my first name.
- My toenails are painted hot pink right now.
- I always think I'm much taller than my 5 feet 4 inches. When describing other women to people I usually say "She's about my height." When the person I was talking to meets the describee, they usually look at me and say, "Nik, she's like 5"8'!"
Ok, my 8 people to tag are:
Neal (I forget this blog name right now. It's new.)
And that's everyone I can think off that hasn't been tagged already. Man, I gotta get some more blogger friends.
In other news:
I found out what the deal with the bike is. You see, Husband just got me a bike last fall, so I was surprised when he offered to buy me a new one. I asked him about it yesterday and he confessed that he never actually bought me the bike he got me last fall. On of his soldiers found it. Dh gave the soldier half a day off for the bike. I'm riding a hot bike, and not just because it's pink. So he offered to get me one of the Italian bikes (with the basket) instead since mine is hot and the handle bars a messed up. I think we're going to go today after work. I'll keep you posted with pictures and such.

6 piccolini:
Great to read more about you Nik. You'll forgive me if I don't do the meme though - I did it a short while back and I'd be hard pushed to think of more 'interesting' things! ;(
That was naughty of husband pretending to buy you a bike, still he can make up for it now can't he!
Oh you're right! I'm sorry I forgot. I guess I only have 5 people to tag after all.
Couldn't you just paint the bike and be more comfortable about it? Is that the 'frugal' housewife in me talking?
As for being tagged... I hate tagging. Hate it! :)
Aww thanks for playing Nik. I never did learn how to do a cartwheel either. How's everything with the MIL going? Hopefully a bit better :)
I am enjoying reading everyone's answers for this meme. :-) Thanks for tagging me. I will post my list either later today or this weekend sometime.
I used to do cartwheels all the tiem although I can't say whether I was any good at it. I wonder if I could do one now . . .Well, that will have to remain a mystery because I'm not willing to try! Haha
The height thing - Whenever asked to speculate as to someone's height, I always say the person is taller than me, which usually gets me a few looks. I'm 5 feet tall.
You have me laughing on the hot bike comment. What a funny (and, yep, naughty is an apt description) hubby!
Loved your answers. I used to try to journal and never finished, but I still occasionally buy empty journals for no apparent reason. I need to give them away, when I come across the empty ones.
I'm 5'3" and people think I'm taller than I am. I've never quite figured out why. I did have one really tall co-worker who called me "petite" when I was a young, skinny thing. I think my jaw hit the floor. I don't fit in petite clothes and never have - even when I was underweight. Maybe that's why it caught me so off-guard.
