3 Day

I have Monday off for Columbus day. I very rarely get off, only official national holidays. For instance, we get off Thanksgiving but not the day after. Where most people get off and have a four day weekend. Since I have a long weekend we decided to go to Innsbruck with the in-laws in tow.

You haven’t heard much about them because we’ve been on a in-law break from their visit. They went to Palermo to see family for a little more than a week and are on their way back to my house as I type this for 14 more days. Oh, yes. You read that right.

But! I do have a new new camera. My graduation-present-to-myself one was TERRIBLE. So terrible that when I tried to take pictures at night with even the faint light of the moon shining it would come out as a blur of squiggles that even a cracked out, pot head would say, “Dude, that’s way too many light squiggles.” Why a new new one? Because I bought a new one last night, took it home, plugged it in, found that only 2 of the lots of buttons worked. Not a good thing to find out when you haven’t even thrown the camera box away. I went BACK to the PX to exchange it for the same type of camera but a different one. I gave myself a good hour to get this done. Because I know that while in a regular American store you could be in and out of there in 15 minutes. Even at a regular PX this is the case. But at a PX where Italians work? Forget it. It took me almost the entire hour to exchange the camera because of Italians and because it was on SALE yesterday but the sale ended yesterday. Just put it in as a discount you say? Yes I said that, too. However, the Italian-leave-everything-to-fate cashier said, “No capito. I don’t know nothing about this.”

Sigh.

An hour later I have my new new camera. Newnew will be charged and ready to go for our trip tomorrow. Oh, and I checked to make sure all the buttons worked before I left the store.
